He’s Not Stupid-Just Conceited

This article from The American Thinker was posted on a friends Facebook site this morning.  When I first saw it, I was too infuriated to think straight.  A couple hours later, the anger has not yet abated.

If the American people were doubtful about the manipulative nature of Barack Obama, his undignified behavior at the “dignified transfer” of the remains of 30 American troops killed by Taliban insurgents in the worst single loss of life in 10 years of the Afghan war should extinguish any remaining doubt.  It’s confirmed — Barack Obama is willing to disrespect the families of dead war heroes if doing so assists in his desperate bid for reelection.

A presidential campaign is “the silly season” in American politics; and most politicians will go to great lengths to arrange photo ops and appearances to boost their campaign.  But to use such a personal and national tragedy to stage a photo op against the wishes of the families of these fallen military men, and to have to do it covertly because you know it is not desired-that’s unforgivable.

How to Save a Life-or a Country

Progressive radio talk show host Norman Goldman did an interview with a psychologist this past week where he posed the opinion that Tea Party members were like junkies-addicted to their newfound power in politics.  I’m surprised that any psychologist-even one so far to the left as to appear on Goldman’s show can’t see the Tea Party in the role they truly provide.

The Tea Party are the concerned citizens staging an intervention on Congress.

Our political system is addicted-to spending and to their own personal power.  We see it on both sides in the House and Senate where congressmen will routinely debase themselves and do nearly anything to keep their political power base-including ”reluctantly” voting for bills that they know will further damage the nation’s economy.  While the Democrats and Republicans played politics and catered to their voting blocks, only the Tea Party stood morally in the breech and said “You have to stop spending”.

If you have ever studied or taken part in an intervention, the first step is to sit down with the individual, present a united front, and show them that you cannot accept or enable their behavior. Then you wait for the response. This is exactly what the Tea Party has been doing in Congress.  They have sat down and tried to talk with both sides about their addictions, but drawn a firm line in the sand saying “We the People” can no longer accept their addictive behavior.

Both the Democrats and Republicans are responding-responding by denying their addiction and shouting against the Tea Party. Democrats blame them for “taking the country hostage” while Republicans somberly say “regretfully I had to vote for this bill”.  Neither of them take responsibility for creating the situation that forced the intervention- instead they lash out at those who would try to save them from their own fear, their shame, and their weakness.

If we’re going to save our country, the Tea Party must stand strong and continue the intervention.

Magic in the Making

After nearly 2 years, I am in the process of bringing this site back online.

With all the lunacy in the state, nation, and world today, we are on the cusp of great things.  Perhaps “great and terrible” things, but great things regardless.  My hope is to provide a “conservative” voice-not necessarily a Republican voice- and perhaps show some stories from both sides, and provide some information and perspective you might not hear or see elsewhere.

Let’s see what happens.
